Creating New Enamel Presets--Tutorial for Photoshop and SuperBladeProThis tutorial was written for Photoshop CS1, but it should work in other versions of Photoshop as well. You
will need to download a file with the template for making additional bitmaps and the template to display your preset.
You can download a zip of this file here.
3. Go to filter, Pixelate, Crystallize, and use these settings:
4. Click on the right color in the Layers Pallette, and repeat steps 1-3, choosing a different color. I used color #5804A3. Go to Select, Deselect. You should have an image that looks something like this:
5. Go to Layer, Merge Visible, then go to Save, Save As and choose BMP as your format. Use the options below when saving your file:
6. Open the file "template enamel.psd", and click on Layer 1 to select it. Hold down Control+left mouse button to select the objects, and go to Filters, Flaming Pear, SuperBladePro. When SBP loads, navigate to your folder with the enamel presets and load one--a gold one if you want to create a new gold enamel preset, or a silver one if you want silver enamel. I've loaded ks_enamel 100.q5q.
7. Click on the environment bitmap (the lower one) and navigate to where you saved your newly-created bitmap. Click on it and then click Open. You will see a new preset in the window:
Click on the icon circled in black above. Navigate to the folder where you keep the enamel presets, name your new preset and hit Save. You now have a new enamel preset with your own custom colors! You can use this method to make as many customized enamel presets as you like. You can also experiment with changing the colors of the lights and the Tarnish, which will change the silver or gold lines into any hue you wish. Have fun creating! |
