This tutorial will show you how to create a jeweled gold element to accent your scrapbooking layouts and kits. The image you will be working with is at 300 ppi, so you need to set your view both in your graphic program and in the SuperBladePro interface at 33%. This will give you an approximation of what your element will look like printed.

Download a zip file of the psd cross element we will be working with
here. You will also need to download the SuperBladePro presets and bitmaps from this page and this page. The directions below will work in any of the major graphics applications, and assumes you have a working knowledge of your software.

1. Open the file labeled "cross.psd". Select the element, so you have the marching ants going around it:

2. Open SuperBladePro and load my preset ks_gold 112.q5q from the gold set you downloaded. Click OK to apply it. Your element should now look like this:

2. Deselect your element. Select all the openings inside the cross. Create a new layer on top of the existing layer. Expand your selections by one, then fill with white. Your image should now look like this:

3. Open SuperBladePro and load my preset ks_pave emerald from the Pave set you downloaded. Move the slider underneath the top bitmap to the number 63. Click OK to apply the preset. Your image should now look like this:

4. Deselect. Apply a very small drop shadow on the top layer of jewels to add more realism, then merge your layers and save your image as a PNG. Your finished cross should look like the illustration at the top of the page. Enjoy!!!
