This tutorial requires the free filter Kaleidoscope 2.1 by Mehdi, which you can download here. Please download and install this filter before beginning
the tutorial. You can download a set of 300 ppi lace ribbons to use with this tut here.
Instructions:
1. This method can be used to make a square frame of any size, depending on the length of the element
you start with. You can use a ribbon, string, series of brush stamps, dingbat(s), text, or any other rasterized
element. For this tutorial we will be using one of the 6-inch lace ribbon samples included in your supplies. Open
the file named "ks_lace ribbon2.png".
2. Select your ribbon and crop it (in Photoshop go to Select, All, and Image, Crop).
3. Make your canvas EXACTLY as high as it is wide, and keep the ribbon at the bottom of your canvas (in Photoshop,
go to Image, Canvas Size, enter the settings for the height, and click the square in the middle of the bottom row,
then click OK). Your image should now look like this (I've inverted my ribbon color so you can see it better):

4. Open the Mehdi Kaleidoscope 2.1 filter and use the following settings:

Click OK.
That's it! You now have a beautiful square lace frame! Have fun!!!
